The Experience
Never Ever After is a larp where fairy tale figures are confronted with mortality and their end.
Players will take up the role of a conceptual fairy tale figure that lives in a fantasy world inside the head of a brilliant writer who caused a great rivival of fairy tales in this era.
However, the writer is confronted with young dementia and he is slowly forgetting the beautiful characters, places and events he created in his mind. The characters will find this out, will try to find a solution (and fail) and will have to come to terms with their end. They will go out accepting their fate or resist it to the bitter end.
This larp handles the 5 stages of mourning, confrontation from immortality to mortality and personal drama between characters.
Setting
This LARP draws inspiration from classic and modern fairy tales, breaking away from traditional stereotypes. Here, princesses can emerge as heroes, dragons and ogres could play benevolent roles, and witches can serve as protectors over innocents. Examples of inspiration for this larp include the following movies/series: Damsel, Shrek, Princess Bride, Neverending Story, Labyrinth & Once Upon a Time.
Yet, the setting is uniquely crafted: the fairy tale characters reside within the boundless expanse of their creator's (Frederick Crow) imagination. This world, shaped over years, knows no borders, reflecting the endless depths of Frederick Crow's creativity. While modern in essence, technology takes a backseat to the fantastical elements that define their reality. Here, electricity coexists with magic carpets and travel by horse riding.
Time holds no sway over these characters, allowing for whimsical encounters between a fairy godmother in her regal attire and a wolf dressed as a biker. In Frederik Crow's beautiful mind, fantasy knows no bounds, and his characters revere him as the father figure they've always longed for.
